In 1992 in Rio de Janeiro, the concept of global development named “sustainable development”, derived from the Brundtland Report, was officially acknowledged; it can be classified as “development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations”. In 2015, the UN General Assembly adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development that includes 17 Sustainable Development Goals and which implementation should involve not only governments but also transnational companies, charity foundations, community, NGOs and academia worldwide.
