The regular meeting of the Northern Forum Regional Coordinators Committee will be held from June 29 to July 1, 2017 in Khanty-Mansiysk.
Regional coordinators, experts, chairs and members of the working groups will determine the strategy for further development of the organization, and discuss the Northern Forum project activities. The event will be attended by the Governor of Lapland Mika Riipi, Vice Chairman of the Government of Krasnoyarsk Krai Yuriy Zakharinsky, Executive Director of the Northern Forum Mikhail Pogodaev, representatives at the Federation Council from the Government of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Ugra - Eduard Isakov and from Chukotka Autonomous Okrug - Anna Otke, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Kamchatka Krai Dmitriy Korostelev, Assistant to the Mayor of Akureyri (Iceland) Katrín Björg Ríkarðsdóttir, Representative of the Governor of Arkhangelsk Oblast for Arctic Development Lev Levit, Professor of the University of Lapland, Chair of the Northern Research Forum Steering Committee Lassi Heininen, Director of the Arctic Portal (Iceland) Halldór Johannsson, International Cooperation Manager of the Regional Council of Lapland Kristiina Jokelainen , and other representatives of the member regions of the organization.
The Northern Forum member regions will have to work hard to develop a strategy and to improve their project activities. The meeting will also touch on such issues as the 13th General Assembly of the Northern Forum, which will be held in November 2017 in Krasnoyarsk, and the activities of the organization in the coming year. Within the framework of the event, the meeting participants will visit the opening ceremony of the international competitions in oblas boat racing.
