A regular Round table of the Northern Forum was held on November 27, 2018, with the support of the Government of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) represented by the Ministry of External Relations and Ethnic Affairs and the Ministry of Entrepreneurship, Trade and Tourism of Sakha Republic (Yakutia).

Participants of the Round table from NF member-regions used a conference call (VCS) to join a meeting.

Heads of relevant ministries and departments, experts, tour operators from NF member-regions took part in the Round table:

The Round table was moderated by Daryana Maksimova, Associate Professor, Department of International Studies, Institute of Modern Languages and International Studies, North-Eastern Federal University; Ph.D., research associate Institute for US and Canadian Studies Russian Academy of Sciences, and Arkadiy Diodorov, Chief Specialist, Northern Forum Secretariat;

The Round table participants discussed common problems and prospects for the sustainable development of Arctic tourism, shared regional features of its development and agreed to work out a joint interregional resolution, which is planned to be sent to the appropriate federal authorities of Russia.

Based on the priority directions of the socio-economic development of the Russian Federation and high natural and cultural potential of the Russian Arctic, the participants decided to pay special attention to a formation of high-quality recreations in the northern territories and send the proposals to Ministry for Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters, and regional executive authorities.
