June 17, 2025, a working meeting of the international organization of northern regions, "Northern Forum," was held at the Russian State Hydrometeorological University (RSHU).

The meeting focused on preparations for the XVI General Assembly of the Northern Forum (July 27, 2025, Khanty-Mansiysk), where the results of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra's chairmanship in 2023-2025 will be summarized and development priorities for the organization until the next assembly will be determined. The goal of consultations with regions, Northern Forum structures, and partners is to expand the geographical reach, level, and scale of events, discuss new approaches and forms of cooperation, and strengthen the voice of Northern and Arctic regions at a global level.

The working meeting took place in an open discussion and exchange of opinions format. Vladimir Vasiliev, Executive Director of the Northern Forum, presented information on the current state of affairs and work plans until the end of 2025, and also moderated the event. Following the meeting, recommendations for the preparation of the General Assembly are planned to be adopted.

The event was held in a hybrid format. Among the meeting participants were Northern Forum regional coordinators from Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra (Inna Arkanova), Krasnoyarsk Krai (Valery Semenov), Chukotka Autonomous Okrug (Anton Yaremchuk), Yakutia (Gavril Kirillin), Nenets Autonomous Okrug (Sergey Kungurtsev), as well as professors from leading universities, RACAI members, chairs of Working Groups, and Northern Forum Goodwill Ambassadors.
