The round table "International Cooperation: Opportunities and Prospects" turned out to be extremely interesting, and all speakers were unanimous in their opinion that it is necessary to make common efforts, step by step, to normalize relations in the Arctic.


On March 5, 2024, the round table "International Cooperation: Opportunities and Prospects" was held in Moscow as part of the Conference “Far East and Arctic: Sustainable Development”.


We are pleased that the active work of the Northern Forum has been repeatedly noted. All participants have a great desire to work together, and many are ready to come to the V Northern Sustainable Development Forum.


Hide Sakaguchi, the President of the Ocean Policy Research Institute of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation (Tokyo, Japan) expressed the readiness of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation to host the Northern Forum event in Japan.


The contours of the climate expert group have been defined and the Arctic Economic Council is ready to join this work.


It was also suggested that we actively join the preparatory activities for the International Polar Year and BRICS.
