On May 14, Magadan hosted the meeting of the Northern Forum Regional Coordinators Committee for the very first time.
On May 13, an excursion was organized for the in-person participants, showcasing the city's landmarks and most remarkable sites. In accordance with the recently approved master plan, an immense volume of work is underway regarding urban beautification and the construction of a new residential district. Everyone was deeply impressed by the pace of construction: the waterfront has been completely transformed, and new modern hotels (with more currently under construction), restaurants, and other social facilities have emerged. It is evident that the region is actively investing and attracting funds to revitalize the city.
The reality far exceeded expectations in the best possible way! Magadan is rapidly becoming a modern, convenient, and comfortable place to live and work. This is further evidenced by the fact that people from many regions of Russia have begun moving here for permanent residency.
As Sergey Nosov, Governor of the Magadan Region, noted during his meeting with Vladimir Vasiliev, Executive Director of the Northern Forum, Igor Kapyrin, Director of the Department for Humanitarian Cooperation and Human Rights of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, and Anton Vasiliev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia and Northern Forum Goodwill Ambassador, the plans for the future are even more ambitious. This is particularly significant given that Magadan's strategic role in protecting the country's eastern borders and establishing a trans-Arctic transport and logistics chain continues to grow each year.
We invite you to admire the views of the beautiful city of Magadan.
