Vladimir Vasilyev, Executive Director of the Northern Forum, reported on the introduction this year of the practice of organizing off-site sessions of the Northern Forum on Sustainable Development in Moscow, Tomsk, and Magadan on such topics as tourism development, the trans-Arctic transport corridor, human capital in the era of artificial intelligence, adaptation to climate change, integration of the resource base and economies of the Arctic and Far Eastern regions, and the creation of a Pacific Platform for the Northern Forum. He also provided an update on the preparations for the upcoming forum in Yakutsk.
Andrey Sandaminovich spoke in support of holding the forum in September, noting the high likelihood of organizing a joint meeting of the Tobolsk and Lena Clubs as the main event.
After discussing all the details, the meeting participants reached a consensus that it would be advisable not to suspend the forum's work, to maintain an annual format in order to preserve the close attention of the international expert community, and, taking into account the organization of off-site sessions, to hold the forum in a more compact format.
The dates for the VII Northern Sustainable Development on Forum are September 27–30.
Stay tuned for announcements; more detailed information will be posted here and on other Northern Forum resources shortly.
