About the Consortium
The Russian-Asian Consortium for Arctic Research (RACAR) was created by the joint initiative of the M.K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University and the Northern Forum, with the mission to consolidate the creative potential of scientific and educational organizations to study global processes in the field of natural, humanitarian and social sciences in the Arctic and in Asia, as well as to implement joint projects and developments.
RACAR conducts a significant number of events in different countries, carries out project activities, and prepares to ensure active participation of members in events and projects of the International Polar Year in 2032-2033.

The Board of Governors is a supreme management body of the Northern Forum and makes major decisions on supporting the organization’s activities and on its development strategy.
The Board consists of the regions’ leaders of its members, each with a deciding vote. As a rule, the Board is convened during the General Assembly, held semi-annually. The Governor of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Yugra, Russia Ruslan Kukharuk is the current chair.
The Chair of the Regional Coordinators Committee and the Executive Director are responsible for preparing the Board meetings and attend them with a consultative vote.

In accordance with the Northern Forum Development Strategy 2030, the Institute of Northern Forum Goodwill Ambassadors has been established since 2021. This status, based on a decision of the Board of Governors or the Regional Coordinators Committee, is granted to state and public figures, prominent figures in science, education, culture, arts and sports who support the Northern Forum mission and international interregional cooperation to achieve sustainable development.
Goodwill Ambassadors contribute to the dissemination of knowledge about the mission and activities of the Northern Forum, the development and promotion of joint projects of various directions and levels, and the organization of various events to unite the efforts of regions, municipalities, and communities aimed at achieving sustainable development and peaceful creative cooperation.

Northern Youth Forum
Youth Wing of the Northern Forum
The Northern Youth Forum (NYF) is a youth wing of the Northern Forum, consisting of representatives of young people aged from 16 to 40 years.
🎯 Mission
To strengthen the spirit of trust and cooperation between young representatives of Northern regions and countries at the stage of personal and professional views' formation.
🎓 Goal
To promote the interests and views of young people in solving the problems facing the Northern Forum by using the potential of international youth cooperation.
Objectives of the NYF
Creation of a platform for international youth cooperation
Involvement of active youth in solving urgent socio-economic, political, ecological, and cultural tasks facing the North and the Arctic
Formation of youth professional communities, communities by interest and working groups for initiatives
Assistance to social, scientific, educational and creative self-realization of youth

History of the NYF
📅 2020 - Foundation Year
In 2020, Ekaterina Sofroneeva, Savina Alekseeva, Sardaana Zhendrinskaya and Sardaana Syromyatnikova initiated the creation of the Northern Youth Forum. Thanks to the support of the Northern Forum and Vladimir Vasiliev personally, the idea was realized.

- ✓ 300 participants from Russia, Iceland, Finland, Norway, Sweden, USA, Canada and China
- ✓ 14 events in online format
- ✓ Sessions on Human Capital, Ecology, Entrepreneurship, Volunteering, and Cultural Heritage
- ✓ ECOSOC Model Conference and various networking sessions
🌐 Northern Forum Model (November 19-21, 2020)
About 250 participants from 11 countries (Russia, Canada, USA, Latvia, India, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Greece, Ukraine, Peru, Great Britain). Role-playing game modeling the activities of Northern Forum structures.
