On May 7, an online meeting was held bringing together directors, vice-principals, and teachers from the member schools of the Northern Forum Schools Association (NFSA). The participants reviewed the results of the concluding academic year and outlined plans for the upcoming one.
Vladimir Vasiliev, Executive Director of the Northern Forum, shared the organization's plans for the current year and urged Association members to actively participate in all projects and events of interest to them.
The Chair of the Association, Anzhelika Gavrilieva, carried out a welcome duty by introducing three new schools that have chosen to join the community: Secondary School No. 45 (Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky), Severo-Yeniseyskaya Secondary School No. 2 (Krasnoyarsk Krai), and the Yuryung-Khainskaya Secondary School (Anabarsky Ulus, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)). The principals of these schools shared their expectations regarding their NFSA membership and outlined promising areas for future cooperation.
Ami Maulana, an expert on Russian-Indonesian relations invited to the meeting, spoke about the secondary education system in Indonesia and offered his assistance in identifying potential partner schools.
All participating schools exchanged views on which formats and mechanisms of engagement they consider most beneficial for students and teachers, what aspects of the Association's work could be enhanced, and how to make its activities an even more effective tool for interregional and international cooperation.
As a result of the meeting, specific objectives were defined for the next academic year. These include organizing in-person joint events, supporting the professional development of teachers, and raising awareness about the activities of the Northern Forum.
We would like to express our gratitude to the Chair and all members of the NFSA for their positive assessment of the Association's work and their readiness for further collaboration in the interest of children's education and development.
