“The Arctic Startup Expedition: Far East and the Arctic of Russia” announces application campaign for participation in the pitching for documentary film authors is still underway.
Applicants should tell stories of the Far East and the Arctic in their documentaries – about people, territories and projects of the Arctic and Far Eastern regions of Russia.
The contest will take place in two stages:
- film industry experts will conduct the initial selection (online);
- In-person final of the competition in a pitching format will be held in Murmansk on November 13-19, 2023 at the XV Northern Character International Film Festival.
The finalists will have the opportunity to attend the educational school of the Northern Character International Film Festival, and the winner of the pitching will receive 1,000,000 rubles.

Authors living in the regions of the Far East and Arctic of Russia can take part in the competition. Applications will be accepted until October 31, 2023.
The creative projects contest “The Arctic Startup Expedition: Far East and the Arctic of Russia” is a program aimed at developing human capital in the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District and the Russian Arctic. Organizers of the expedition are the Ministry of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, Corporation for Development of the Far East and the Arctic, Innovation Development Fund of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Corporation for the Development of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), and the Northern Youth Forum. Partners of the “Cinema” track of the contest are the Murmansk region and the “Northern Character” Production Center.
