The annual Beringia Days Conference will be held September 16 - 18 in Anadyr, Chukotka, Russia. Beginning in 1998, the National Park Service has been conducting an annual international Beringia Days conference every year in Anchorage, Alaska. The conference celebrates the natural and cultural heritage shared by Russia and the United States across the Bering Strait. In 2003, the Administration of the Chukotka Autonomous Region agreed to host the conference on an alternate basis with Alaska. The first conference was held in Anadyr that September. Now a second one is scheduled for this year. For more information, go to http://www.nps.gov/akso/beringia/.
