The Cold Climate Housing Research Center, the University of Alaska Fairbanks and the Northern Forum organized the first Biennial Forum on Sustainable Northern Shelter, held in Fairbanks, Alaska, USA October 28-30, 2007. Over 150 participants from Alaska, Canada, Sweden, Greenland and Russia exchanged information, ideas, know-how and proposals to improve construction in the North and do it in a sustainable way.
The panel topics were as follows:
- Building Science and Construction
- Energy Systems and Infrastructure
- Appropriate Sustainable Design of Buildings and Communities
- Integration of ideas presented into an agenda for future actions.
